Samhain Recipes: Incense

If you would like to make your own Incenses for Samhain,  I would suggest you to include herbs that have special meaning for Samhain.

For example:

For Remembrance: you can use Rosemary
For Purification: you can use Sage and Salt
For Protection: you can use Marigold, Pepper (for ghostly protection), Cinnamon, Wormwood ( protection against evil spirits)
To Honor the Earth: Patchouli and Pine.
To Honor the ancestors: Marigold

Sage is also a good herb for wisdom. Apple and Apple leaves can be used for the Sabbat of Samhain itself and for fall too. Mugwort is good for psychic awareness and to aid divination. Bay and Bay leaves are good for psychic powers.

Those are the most common herbs used to create incense for the Sabbat of Samhain. However, you can also choose herbs from the following:

Mullein seeds (a projection for abundance), rue, calendula, sunflower petals and seeds, pumpkin seeds, turnip seeds, mushrooms, wild ginseng, tarragon, almond, hazelnut, passionflower, pine needles, nettle, garlic, hemlock cones, mandrake root.

Now, if you are not comfortable to create your own incense for whatever reason, here are some recipes for you:
